Ana lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Contagem Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,500.
Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment Ana could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• braille note-taker: $2,300
• Fitting and training sessions: $100
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $70
