Mobility fund: adapted tricycle for Sipho F in Johannesburg

An adapted tricycle would give Sipho F independence - we're $750 away.

Johannesburg
Sipho F lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Johannesburg Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750. Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment Sipho F could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $750 goes: • adapted tricycle: $550 • Fitting and training sessions: $65 • Delivery and set-up: $35 • First-year servicing plan: $100 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck, Shireen. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Blessings.
