My delivery van: Javier's only way to earn a living
Without my delivery van Javier can't work; a $550 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my delivery van. 8 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $550. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $550 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $400
• Labor charges: $90
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $55
• Towing and inspection: $5
Thank you for reading my story.

So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless
