Mobility fund: adapted tricycle for Rachel in Johannesburg

An adapted tricycle would give Rachel independence - we are $1,050 away.

Johannesburg
Rachel lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Johannesburg General Hospital has assessed her and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,050. Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Rachel could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,050 goes: • adapted tricycle: $920 • Fitting and training sessions: $80 • First-year servicing plan: $50 If you're reading this, thank you. - Tracey
