An adapted tricycle would give Melanie independence - we're $7,500 away.

Halifax
Melanie lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at Halifax General Hospital has assessed her and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,500. Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment Melanie could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $7,500 goes: • adapted tricycle: $7,000 • First-year servicing plan: $320 • Fitting and training sessions: $180 I hope life is good to you. - David

Updates from David

  1. Thank you all. We're at 25% now ($1,905). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward adapted tricycle.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,905 in total) I made the first payment toward fitting and training sessions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Quick update: $886 raised so far (12%). I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
