Mobility fund: adapted tricycle for Maina in Dar es Salaam
An adapted tricycle would give Maina independence - we are $1,050 away.
🇹🇿 Tanzania1,623 views
Maina lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Dar es Salaam General Hospital has assessed him and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,050.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Maina could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• adapted tricycle: $970
• Fitting and training sessions: $55
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
