Mobility fund: adapted tricycle for Aria in San Antonio
Aria needs an adapted tricycle that the health system won't fund; the cost is $700.
🇺🇸 San Antonio, Texas, United States462 views
Aria lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at San Antonio General Hospital has assessed her and recommended an adapted tricycle. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700.
Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment Aria could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $700 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $175
• Delivery and set-up: $165
• First-year servicing plan: $360
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Ciudad de México
Sending strength, Liliana. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
Thinking of you, Liliana. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too.

Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Greensboro so I could bring a meal. Thinking of San Antonio
Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
Sending love, Liliana. I hope things turn around soon. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of San Antonio.
