Mim needs a freezer and scales to reopen a fish stall

Mim has run a fish stall for nine years; the demolition of the market destroyed the equipment, and $350 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a fish stall in Mumbai. In July, the demolition of the market took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $350 goes: • Replacing a freezer and scales: $230 • Shop repairs and licensing: $40 • Initial stock: the first catch: $80 If you're reading this, thank you. - Mim

Updates from Mim

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($27 in total) the plan for replacing a freezer and scales is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Quick update: $17 raised so far (5%). I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  3. Update from Mumbai: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 2% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
