Milan flood relief - the Riverside settlement
Neighbors in the Riverside settlement are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The flood hit the Riverside settlement on 25 November. My home was one of 71 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $530
• Clean water and purification supplies: $620
• Food parcels for displaced families: $700
Thank you for reading my story.

Thinking of you and your family, Giulia. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Giulia?
Thank you. If you're in Milan I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Appreciate you taking the time.
Best of luck, Giulia. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
