Mexicali flood relief - the Northside settlement
Neighbors in the Northside settlement are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The flood hit the Northside settlement on 9 August. My home was one of 14 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $2,400 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $910
• Clean water and purification supplies: $280
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $330
• Food parcels for displaced families: $620
• Tools and labor for repairs: $260
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Wishing you peace, Marcos. It takes guts to ask. Well done. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.
thinking of you and your family. I hope things turn around soon. I hope November is when things finally get easier. God bless.
