Mert's colon cancer treatment fund
12 rounds of treatment are planned at the Kadıköy Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Mert was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at the Kadıköy Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Mert is 50, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Kadıköy Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Scans and lab work: $340
• Transport to the Kadıköy Oncology Institute: $105
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $90
• Household costs while unable to work: $465
