Mental health support for Vinayak after a difficult divorce
After a difficult divorce, Vinayak has been on a waiting list for months - private therapy is the only option, and the cost is $250.
🇮🇳 Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India838 views
After a difficult divorce, Vinayak has struggled with anxiety, sleep and panic attacks. The doctor has referred him to weekly cognitive behavioral therapy, but the public waiting list is 9 months, and private sessions at Chennai Wellbeing Centre cost $20 each.
Vinayak has been honest with his employer and taken some time off, but can't keep going without support.
Therapy has already helped a little in the sessions Vinayak could afford. The therapist recommends 10 weekly sessions, and consistent help will make the difference.
Asking for help with this has been the hardest part for Vinayak, and we're grateful for your kindness without judgment.
The money will be paid directly to the counselor's practice, with a session-by-session record.
Where the $250 goes:
• 10 therapy sessions: $195
• Psychiatric assessment: $40
• Workbook and resources: $15
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vinayak
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. 10 therapy sessions comes first ($195) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
Rooting for you, Apurva. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
thanks for sharing this, Apurva. Hope the doctors have good news. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
