Mensah's kidney cancer treatment fund
Supporting Mensah through kidney cancer: medication, transport to Tema Regional Medical Center, and living costs while He can't work.
🇬🇭 Tema, Greater Accra, Ghana559 views
Mensah was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August. The oncology team at Tema Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Mensah is 55, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tema Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050
• Scans and lab work: $185
• Transport to Tema Regional Medical Center: $75
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $145
• Household costs while unable to work: $295
