After gallstones with repeated infections, Mensah was cleared for a partial thyroidectomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Mensah was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in February. The surgeon at Accra General Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,900, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,150 short.
my father has been in and out of Accra General Hospital since February. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,900 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mensah struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Mensah won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
