Melanie was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April. The oncology team at Newcastle University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Melanie is 47, worked as a primary school teacher until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Newcastle University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $10,050 goes: • Transport to Newcastle University Hospital: $710 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,350 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,990 I hope life is good to you.

Transport to Newcastle University Hospital is $710 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Appreciate you taking the time.
