Megan's school year: uniform, books and a laptop
Megan won a place at Oakland Science Academy but the family cannot afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

Megan earned a place in Year 11 at Oakland Science Academy, and the family couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things She needs, including a laptop for the biology course, and a uniform.
The family has few resources; the list costs $500, which is more than they have.
Megan loves biology and wants to become a pilot. A laptop will allow coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
She will take care of everything given and works very hard.
I'll buy the items from the school's approved supplier and post photos of everything.
Where the $500 goes:
• School uniform and shoes: $165
• Textbooks and workbooks: $270
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $65
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

keep going, Ella. This could happen to any of us. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Oakland.
