Mathilda was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in March. The surgeon at Karlsruhe Community Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,550, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,850 short.
my sister has been in and out of Karlsruhe Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,550 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mathilda struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Mathilda won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
