Mateo's final semester of a diploma in hospitality management in Yonkers
A first-generation student, Mateo needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a diploma in hospitality management.

Mateo is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Yonkers Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,750.
The registrar has said Mateo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Mateo has a 3.8 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Mateo would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Mateo isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Yonkers Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.

• Final term tuition: $2,680
