Martine's colon cancer treatment fund
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Toronto University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇨🇦 Toronto, Ontario, Canada742 views
Martine was diagnosed with colon cancer in May. The oncology team at Toronto University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Martine is 29, worked as a construction supervisor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Toronto University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $440
• Transport to Toronto University Hospital: $720
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,290
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Martine.
Good luck, Valentin. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Toronto.
can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Toronto
Thank you. If you're in Toronto I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
Stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. God bless.
You're not alone, Valentin. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted. God bless.
Sending good thoughts. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless!
Hope you get there. It's not much but it's yours. All the best
wishing you the best, Valentin. Hope you get there.
Good luck, Valentin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Sydney donated after I showed her your page. Love from Sydney.
