Cleveland
Marilyn lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Cleveland General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $10,600. Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment Marilyn could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $10,600 goes: • braille note-taker: $10,000 • Fitting and training sessions: $230 • Delivery and set-up: $155 • First-year servicing plan: $215 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
