Maria wants to stay at home - help fund eight months of care
Maria, 78, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $2,450 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 78. After a diagnosis of dementia Maria can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Maria desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Maria worked all of her life as a bus driver, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.

• Part-time carer (eight months): $1,850
• Medication and prescriptions: $310
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $130
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $160
