Marcel was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in August. The oncology team at Rotterdam Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Marcel is 30, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Rotterdam Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,750 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,200
• Transport to Rotterdam Regional Medical Center: $540
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $460
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,300

what exactly is the $8,750 for?
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the biggest at $5,250. Thanks for asking.
