For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 107 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Permits and inspections: $25 • Materials: $240 • Tools hire and delivery: $35 Thank you so much. - Sumbal

  • Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Kediri.

    • wishing you the best, Sumbal. More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out.

      • Wishing you peace, Sumbal. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
