For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 477 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $150 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $65 Thank you for reading my story. - Tejas
