A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Maple Primary School that will serve 217 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 217 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $220
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
