Maple Primary School needs a playground - Geeta's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at Maple Primary School that will serve 457 neighbors.
🇮🇳 India1,299 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $65, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 457 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Materials: $490
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
