Maple Primary School needs a community garden - Cameron's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $2,650 for materials.
🇬🇧 England, United Kingdom1,403 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 321 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Materials: $1,800
• Permits and inspections: $320
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Tools hire and delivery: $410
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Cameron.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of London.
Hang in there. Hope this works out for you. Please keep us posted.
Thanks for sharing this, Cameron. This could happen to any of us.

Hope it all works out, Cameron. More neighborhoods should do this. I hope April is when things finally get easier. God bless.
