Manal was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in October. The oncology team at the Amsterdam Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Manal is 46, worked as a taxi driver until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Amsterdam Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $10,450 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,000
• Scans and lab work: $1,100
• Transport to the Amsterdam Oncology Institute: $990
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $610
• Household costs while unable to work: $750
