Mackenzie received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A notice to vacate arrived last week. Mackenzie needs $4,300 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Saint Paul.

When my hours were cut in half in July, Mackenzie fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Monday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $4,300.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, the family must leave.
There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Mackenzie has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $4,300 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $3,000
• Late fees and court costs: $270
• Utilities in arrears: $290
• First month of rent as a buffer: $740

Keep going. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Stay strong, Eliana. Your post was clear and honest
