Macharia needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $650.

I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the Kampala Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650.
My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $650 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $570
• Fitting and training sessions: $35
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $30
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
