A scheduled a partial thyroidectomy in August is out of reach without help covering $800 of the cost.

Mabel was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in May. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $800 short.
my wife has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since May. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mabel struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Mabel won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $800 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $270
• Post-operative medication: $65
• Travel and lodging for the family: $55
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $410
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

how is Mabel doing now?
Hope it all works out, Emmanuel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
thinking of you and your family, Emmanuel. Hope the doctors have good news. All the best.
Hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Take care
