Luna was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,650 short.
my wife has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Luna struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Luna won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
