Luigi's laparoscopic endometriosis surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a large ovarian cyst, Luigi was cleared for laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In March I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Lecce University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $11,750, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $5,850 short.
Doctors at Lecce University Hospital told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. I work as a hotel cleaner, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $11,750 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a hotel cleaner have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $5,850 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,450
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $2,150
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $260
• Post-operative medication: $220
• Physiotherapy sessions: $550
• Travel and lodging for the family: $220
Thanks for being kind about this.
