Lucy's non-Hodgkin lymphoma treatment fund
Supporting Lucy through non-Hodgkin lymphoma: medication, transport to Machakos Cancer Centre, and living costs while She can't work.
🇰🇪 Machakos, Kenya204 views
Lucy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in February. The oncology team at Machakos Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Lucy is 44, worked as a nurse until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Machakos Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,500
• Scans and lab work: $300
• Transport to Machakos Cancer Centre: $200
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65
• Household costs while unable to work: $285
Thanks for being kind about this.
