Luca's gallbladder removal can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled gallbladder removal in May is out of reach without help covering $4,000 of the cost.

In February I was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections. My surgeon at Springfield Orthopedic Institute recommended gallbladder removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $5,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay, I'm still $4,000 short.
Doctors at Springfield Orthopedic Institute told me a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. I work as a call-centre agent, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $5,750 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a call-centre agent have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to drive during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $4,000 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $220
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,400
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $770
• Physiotherapy sessions: $370
• Post-operative medication: $240

stay strong, Luca. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings.
Hope it all works out. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Springfield
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 24 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Saket!
