Louis was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June. The oncology team at Boulogne-Billancourt Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Louis is 56, worked as a nurse until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Boulogne-Billancourt Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $9,700 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,450
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,250
• Transport to Boulogne-Billancourt Cancer Centre: $750
