Lotus Primary School needs a covered market stall space - Niluka's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Colombo are raising $500 for a covered market stall space at Lotus Primary School.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 203 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $350
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
• Permits and inspections: $70
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
