Lotus Park needs a rainwater harvesting system - Wangari's neighborhood project

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $750. It will serve about 555 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $750 goes: • Materials: $600 • Permits and inspections: $65 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Tools hire and delivery: $15 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Wangari
