Quezon City
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 135 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Permits and inspections: $45 • Materials: $330 • Safety equipment and signage: $75 With deep gratitude, Paolo

Updates from Paolo

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($315 in total) I made the first payment toward materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
