Los Angeles winter storm relief - the Millbrook district
After the winter storm, families in the Millbrook district need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The winter storm hit the Millbrook district on 1 July. My home was one of 50 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $4,100 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $770
• Tools and labor for repairs: $700
• Clean water and purification supplies: $600
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,030
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending good thoughts, Kendall. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Los Angeles.
good luck, Kendall. This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Karachi so I could bring a meal.
Sending good thoughts. Your post was clear and honest. Love from George.
Thinking of you, Kendall. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
