Los Angeles winter storm relief - Lakeview village
After the winter storm, families in Lakeview village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,374 views
The winter storm hit Lakeview village on 3 November. My home was one of 77 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $5,950 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,750
• Clean water and purification supplies: $740
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $620
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,100
• Tools and labor for repairs: $740
Glad we found this place.

what's already covered and what's the $5,950 for?
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. roofing sheets and timber comes first ($2,750) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Los Angeles
Thinking of you and your family. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Blessings.
Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Los Angeles
It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 18 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything
