Looking for an UX design mentor: Musyoka's career change at 54
Musyoka, a security guard, is retraining for UX design and is looking for a mentor for monthly calls over four months.

I have worked as a security guard for 14 years, and I'm 54. After years of wanting more, I decided to move into UX design, and I have completed an online certificate.
What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my capstone project, a realistic view of the job market in Nairobi, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming.
I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for four months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time.
All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled.
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong, Musyoka. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
You're not alone, Musyoka. Hope the shop reopens soon.

So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Zanzibar City donated after I showed her your page.
Wishing you peace, Musyoka. Small businesses are the heart of Nairobi. Hope you're open again soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
