London flood relief - the Riverside district
After the flood, families in the Riverside district need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The flood hit the Riverside district on 13 September. My home was one of 36 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,600
• Clean water and purification supplies: $320
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $500
• Food parcels for displaced families: $990
• Tools and labor for repairs: $940
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you the best. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 16 years in public service I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Thinking of London.
Praying for you. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. God bless
