Liya's a craniotomy can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a deviated septum causing chronic infections, Liya was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In July I was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections. My surgeon at Hawassa University Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $670, and after what the public health scheme will pay, I'm still $500 short.
Doctors at Hawassa University Hospital told me a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without a craniotomy. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $670 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to lift anything heavy during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $500 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $290
• Travel and lodging for the family: $55
• Physiotherapy sessions: $105
• Post-operative medication: $50
