Lincoln served twelve years in the infantry; $3,950 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

Violet served twelve years in the infantry and was discharged in 2025 with a back injury. She has been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place. The plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote comes to $3,950. Violet is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly. Where the $3,950 goes: • Training provider fees: $2,100 • Housing deposit and first month: $1,000 • Transport to appointments: $540 • Essential household items: $310 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
