Lina's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After an aortic valve defect, Lina was cleared for cataract surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In November I was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect. My surgeon at San Jose University Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for February. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $8,750, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $7,050 short.
Doctors at San Jose University Hospital told me an aortic valve defect will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a farm laborer, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $8,750 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a farm laborer have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
