Liên received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A cut in working hours left Liên short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the warehouse, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $450.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $270
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $115
Thank you so much.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Nha Trang!
Thank you. If you're in Nha Trang I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Appreciate you taking the time.
a secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Nha Trang.
how is Liên doing now?
Wishing you peace, Liên. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Lagos so I could bring a meal. God bless
Thinking of you and your family, Liên. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
