For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $100, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 420 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $420 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Ruth

  • Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings

Wishing you the best. Great idea, hope you get there. After 11 years in logistics I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Love from Thrissur.
