Liberty Primary School needs a free library and reading room - Fadi's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Palermo are raising $1,950 for a free library and reading room at Liberty Primary School.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $620, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 195 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Tools hire and delivery: $360
• Materials: $1,340
