For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $750. It will serve about 186 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $750 goes: • Materials: $560 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $85 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
